We are looking for someone with experience producing and decorating a wide range of bakery products. This will be working in a small team where you will be provided with many hands-on opportunities for development. You will be working in all areas of the bakery – ovens, tables, moulding, cakes and finishing. You will have a creative nature and bring ideas to the production process, whilst ensuring products are of the highest quality and aesthetically pleasing.

What will you do?

Support the operations within the kitchen

Adhere to all company H&S processes and procedures

Create and decorate produce

Check batch consistency and quality

Sort and inspect finished product

Ensure the cleanliness and operation of equipment are to a high standard before beginning production

Examine production schedules to determine confectionery types and quantities to be made

Create unique and personalised cakes upon request

As an Assistant Confectioner, you will work a 40 hour week. However, this is not a Monday to Friday job. You’ll be expected to work weekends as it’s often the busiest time. Your primary focus is to ensure confection processes are followed and to ensure customer satisfaction as a result of high quality and presentation of our produce. You will also drive the development of new lines of produce, with the support of the Store Manager’s understanding of the customer.

What will you need?

Experience of producing and baking a full range of products including cakes, pastries and personalised products

A passion for baking and have all-round baking skills and produce work to a very high standard

A creative mindset

You will need to be a team player and contribute to a positive atmosphere. You must be able to communicate with others and able to take direction from your supervisor

An excellent understanding and application of HACCP Health and Safety
